Okay so I really love this lighter, well, the function of it. The quality of the lighter is one of the worst I’ve seen. Look at my pictures, keep in mind that while I have owned it for roughly 3 months now, my lighter looked very similar to how it does now after a week of use.I really tried to take care of it but after a week of use, the black on the plastic really started to come off and it already looked really bad. Torch AKA “Tank” lighters gained popularity in the mid 1980’s. While pretty expensive in those days, I was gifted with one of the original, “Tank” and fell in love with them. I have owned many ones over the years with mixed results.

But they are a bit problematic even to this day. First thing is they are really picky about the quality of the fuel and most common name brands of fuel do not meet these standards. I may have tossed several in the past before I learned this. I have used Xikar Purefine fuel for several years with near perfect results.
